The FOSSASIA Summit returns to Lifelong Learning Institute as an in-person and online event, taking place from Thursday to Saturday, 13 to 15 April 2023. Started in 2009, the summit is one of the longest running tech events in Asia. It brings together over 150 speakers who are developers, technologists, and industry leaders from all over the world to share their knowledge and expertise in 140 sessions, workshops, and career panels. 

At the career fair (8.30am to 5.30pm, daily) in the exhibition area there are plenty of networking opportunities with companies and institutions of higher learning. Catering snacks are provided throughout the event. After the opening on Thursday, 13 April at 9am, there is a community lunch buffet for registered participants. 

In particular after recent advancements in AI, the big topic at the event is what is possible with technology today. In the artificial intelligence track, we will talk about ChatGPT and how to build, deploy, and run AI systems using in-house data and Open Source, and discuss how the technology can benefit humanity in a rapidly changing world. Areas that are also receiving more and more attention recently are robotics, hardware, firmware, and microchips. How can open source robotics and open hardware help to solve the challenges in public health, renewable energy, food production, and climate change? Other dedicated tracks cover everything from cloud, DevOps and databases to Blockchain, web & mobile, InnerSource and open source standards where we exchange about standardisation and approaches that ensure interoperability, security, and the economical use of our resources and energy. In tracks about kernel, platform, operating systems, and security, experts get together to discuss the latest solutions in the industry.
