11am - 12pm | School of Coffee Workshop What makes a good barista? Many may associate a good barista with someone who knows much about gourmet coffee, or a barista who can produce cups of coffee with beautiful latte art. But is our coffee culture in Singapore only about gourmet coffee? We have our unique local coffee and tea too, which makes up an even bigger pie of the coffee consumption here. However, drinking local coffee and tea growing up, you are bound to have encountered issues like inconsistency in taste when you order your coffee or tea every day, even when it is from the same coffee stall. Hence, we now train Barista 4.0 – a barista who is well-versed in both gourmet and local coffee and drinks, and can brew these drinks with consistency and no wastage. In this workshop, you will learn about the key traits and skills of a good Barista 4.0, as well as how inherent limitations of traditional socks brewing for local beverages can be addressed.
